This is who we are and this is what we do ...
With 25 years experience working in municipal recreation, and an additional 50 years of personal volunteer commitment, the Region of Queens Municipality's Department of Recreation and Community Facilities team is committed to working with the people of Queens to achieve active lifestyles and vibrant communities! Norm Amirault, Director of Recreation and Community Facilities; Heather Cook, Community Development Coordinator; and Dana Henley, Secretary/Receptionist are pleased to offer a number of services to volunteers, including consultations with groups, training opportunities, and a variety of grants; the Recreation Department takes a community development philosophy in helping the community achieve its full potential. Volunteers are the heart of the community, and Queens has a healthy, strong heart. There are over 270 volunteer organizations located in our community, powered by hundreds of people doing the good work that makes this community a great place to live, work and play!

Services:
- Community Photocopy program permits groups up to 1,000 free copies per year and additional 1,500 copies are provided at a charge of $0.05 per copy.
- Promote your group or event ... we'll prepare your poster and tickets! We also can design newsletters, brochures and pamphlets.
- Need equipment for your event? We can loan you a 20'x20' tent or a stage. Planning a sporting event? We have basketball standards, and a volleyball net. We also have outdoor banners which can be lettered to promote your event! All of these things are available for a refundable deposit.
- Is your group in need of training or seeking information about a topic of interest? We provide training and consultation to groups year round.
- Do you have an idea for a program, event or facility for your community? We can connect you to a network of resources -- people, agencies, grant sources, and information are all accessible.
